The Italian Riviera begins in San Remo and stretches hundreds of miles on Italy’s western shore. Tour picturesque Portofino, Bay of Naples, Capri, Blue Grotto, and Ischia.
Savor the spectacular Amalfi Coast, home of famous artist community Positano. Each location and community have their unique allure and charm. World renowned superb food and fine wine are as abundant here as the sparkling sea and blue skies.
Your overnight voyage will bring you to Corsica, with its quaint yet bustling fishing villages and unspoiled harbors interspersed along a dramatic coastline that has changed little since the ancient Roman Empire.
Birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, Corsica remains largely undeveloped, with craggy mountains, inland forests, and rocky, and a dramatic coastline punctuated by splendid beaches.
Cross the Bonifacio Straits directly to Sardinia and the Costa Smeralda. This beautiful corner of the world was developed by Aga Khan lV in the 1950’s as a Jet-Set Glamour Haven. It has phenomenal beaches, architectural sites and ruins, snorkeling and diving not to mention fantastic hotels, restaurants and clubs.
A few miles away are the unspoiled, uninhabited Maddalena Islands – a perfect hideaway that has retained their rustic natural beauty with numerous protected anchorages. Dotted along the coast are old military ruins which stand as a proud monument of the defeat of Boneparte’s invasion in 1789.
There are several restaurants and small bars, and a local hotel on the island. Don’t miss the hot focaccia slices which is Maddalena’s version of “fast food”- rustico style!
